Well Ric and I arrived in Copenhagen today.. caught the over night train from Frankfurt and arrived about 11am.. the weather is pretty crap today and we haven't done anything yet just waited for the showers to open up at 2!

Frankfurt was bloody HOT! and the weird thing is all shops are closed until 2pm.. the whole place is dead you can crawl across the road and you wont be hit by a car cos no one is out!@

we walked around for a while and ran into HEAPS of aussies.. appart from german fans aussies are the next most represented. But its good to have chats with them plenty of stories going around.

But i have to say the german transport system is not very tourist friendly, nothing is writen in english anywhere and the trains are well crap! old and loud.. there are no ticket gates anywhere so you can sometimes get away with nt using a ticket.. so far I havent had a strike against my eurail pass we were meant to get a hole punched for our Frankfurt > Copenhagen trip but when the conductor came with sniffer dogs we just told them we were aussie and they left lol...

One thing i am still having trouble getting my head around is how EXPENSIVE everythng is here.. its crazy! we've just been eating stuff from bakeries when they go on special haha.. a big mac will set you back 2.8EUR or something likke that.. water is 2EUR and we could not find a proper supermarket in frankfurt which was annoying but we did manage to get a litre of apple juice for 49EUR

To this point, most of the german people have been pretty nice and helpful, but there have been times when people help you they seem to come across as very demanding, even when they help you with everything you need and try to help you some more! I guess it is just the way germans are. Havent spent much time talking t many Danish people but they seem fairly laid back.. but this place looks more expensive then germany!

not sure what is happening tonight but there are 4 aussie girls and an aussie dude who are staying at our hostel and I think we are going to go and watch the aussie match with them.

I will hopefully be able to upload some pics soon but these macs are hard to use when everything is in Danish..

PS. Yes, Europe is full of beautiful beautiful girls.

Finally arrived in Tokyo this morning.. flight was the smoothest i have ever had (much to my disapointment..) but all is good, its very misty here and there were a few showers around but nothing major. I am styaing in New Koyo again and this time my room is on level 1 directly opposite the showers.. blah.

Strange thing is.. i havent met anyone who speaks english at the hostel yet! they all seem to be europeans.. mainly french.. and ye they are being their typical loud rude selves..

I spent the day walking around Akihabra, Shinjuku and Ueno.. just checking out prices for lenses.. they arnt nych cheaper her :/ A few weird things have happened.. last time i was here i was in the white mans club.. where everytime i walked past another white dude they would nod at me.. this time itlooks like i am now in the black mans club.. they all seem to be nodding at me now! hahah

amyway i am gonna try and find a bar to watch the wc..

I can probably say that I am 70% packed and ready to go! I'm just sitting at home waiting to go see the doctor to get some antibiotics for my trip since i don't want a repeat of what happened in the philippines!

I've got a few admin tasks left to do as well... Put up all my card details etc in a safe place, write down all the phone numbers of people I will be visiting in different cities etc etc.

So it's saturday.. I'm at home bored and recovering from a week of sickness and SITPP.. so i get a call to go bike riding at parra park.. i'm pretty much all good now, so why not i say! I get to Ric's place load the bikes into the car and then head off to Alan's house to get read since he lives right next to the park. Anyway we start riding around.. everything is all good.. but it's getting a bit boring, so i remember when i was younger i use to be able to ride behind people and hit their back tyre with my front tyres.. it use to work pretty well, so i decided to ric to make things a bit more interesting, i hit his tyre but it made me loose control and i got the wobbles.. but luck i got it back and kept riding.. but i decided to have another go so i went up and hit his tyre again, once again i lost control, but this time.. i didnt regain control.. I ended up falling off the bike and sliding on my right knee and here is the damage that has been done!

everyone was cracking up including me, so i learnt my lesson the hard way =)

Yes thats right!!! my jacket has FINALLY ARRIVED!! however, to keep things consistent it did arrive with plenty of controversy! I got a call about noon today, from my DHL 'investigator' and she said its on board with the driver now and will be delivered soon, i asked her where it was going and she said my home address.. and at which point i had enough! I ripped into her a bit and said it was meant to come to st hilliers! she said that would take another day (which i have herd them say MANY MANY times before.) i was getting pretty pissed so i said tell the driver to leave it at my door.. which she said could be arranged.. but i doubted her! anyway i check the australian air express website, and it says my package was delivered around 2.. i get mildly excited thinking cool it has come.. so i get to uni and start working on my stuff and my dad calls me around 4 and says the courier just came to my house and dropped it off... BASTARDS LIED!! AGAIN!!!! anyway at this point i was happy!! not as happy as when i ripped open that DHL bag to find my jersey in there!! I was so worried it was going to be the wrong size haha i would of went to work and jumped off the bridge if that happened!

Surprise surprise.... NO PACKAGE!!!!!!! What is this world coming to!!!!!All a man wants these days is to get a freaking package!! Anyway here is today's progress report.. After printing SITPP i give DHL a ring.. i get this lady and you know how you get start getting angry at someone and they will take it and get angry with you? well she was one of them.. i told her my story and she was getting pissed off for me (or so she says) and when i was about to give her my details to get her supervisor to call me back the phone cut out... I called back and i got this happy go lucky girl who i couldn't tell of and i just couldn't be stuffed repeating my story so she just grabbed my details and said her supervisor will be in touch.. bah.. anyway at 5:05 i get a call from the supervisor.. another girl who spoke so damm fast i couldn't get a word in she basically told me my package has had an unusual amount of handling and it was unacceptable, and that I've had a DHL investigator assigned to me to find out why this happened to my package and to get it to me ASAP.. expecting a call tomorrow morning.. this is just getting beyond a joke! I've already started brain storming my complaint letter!!!

on happier news, Japan and Germany had a 2-2 draw.. this means good things for Japan and should give them a very good chance of beating australia in the world cup!!

WHERE IS MY PACKAGE!!!!!!

So I order my dutch football jacket from america, i pay 30$ postage for it to be sent with DHL (it was the cheapest option anyway).. A few days after i bought my package i looked up my consignment number, to my amazement it had already arrived in sydney (goooo DHL!) so i was expecting my package to be dropped off the next day (thursday).. so that day came and went without a package.. no big deal, i called DHL up and they said because i live so far west that they don't deliver that far out and have given it to another courier company to deliver.. and the my package was on board with the driver and will be delivered later that day! WOOHOOO! so 4pm comes and goes.. i call home, no package.. I ring up DHL again and he goes i did not leave an 'authority to leave' so that the courier could drop it off.. so instead the courier kept it and returned to Auburn.. I asked the guy at DHL to change the delivery address to my office in the city.. all good, told me it would be there by tuesday at the latest.. fair enough.. a bit annoying but i can live with that. So monday comes, i hassle our receptionist every hour asking for my package.. nothing.. Tuesday comes.. i look up my tracking number, package still at auburn, wth?? So i call up DHL again.. the guy hmm's a few times.. and says he has increased my priority and said his supervisor will look into why my package is still at auburn.. but he tells me with my increased priority my package will be a day away because it has to return to the DHL base for city delivery... grrr I've just checked my tracking number again and my package is still sitting in Auburn! NOT HAPPY JAN!!!!!

I feel sorry for the person who is going to cop it if my package is at Auburn tomorrow!!! fits of rage at soccer will be NOTHING!!

Girls and alcohol don't mix, and Revesby FC's latest not so victorious loss

Well well well... I'm sure many people are feeling the effects of last nights shenanigans, I don't think the girls will be taking so many shots in a short space of time again ;) The girls are pretty much all gone and the list of casualties grew as the night went on.. Kath, Addy, Suzie and Carrots all made sure they were drunk enough to turn as red as a traffic light!! The guys faired better, Dou, Dave, Leon all managed to be 'kindly escorted' out by security, but Irf dragged the whole team down by drinking his drink through a STRAW.. wth is with that? and apparently he ended up joining the casualty list by chucking up a few times on the way home haha!

Anyway, today we chalked up another loss for our season.. We played some team in bankstown who decided to show up 5min before the game was meant to start.. We all started off strongly and we looked like we were defeinetly ontop within the first 15-20minutes, we had plenty of ball and our defence was stopping the supply, but then their tall then me number 5 managed to schoot from out side the box and get the ball in over the keepers head.. and well thats where it all fell apart. They ended up steam rolling us to a 5 - 0 defeat.. But, even though we obviously made mistakes I think the second half of the game showed how good some of our fowards can play, we pretty much had all the ball that half we just couldn't execute any shots on goal.. but oh well, next week is a Bye and I've only got about 2 games left before my i have to head off to germany to play.

It's almost a month before i head off on my trip! and well not much progress has been made since my last post. So far we've got accomodation booked in Frankfurt, Berlin, Munich (aka Munchen?!), Copenhagen and Ibiza.... the rest.. is well not booked yet. We've also run into a few issues with transport.. I think we all assumed getting around europe would take the same amount of time as it does to get around sydney! haha we've had to drop a night in stockholm to enjoy an over night train trip to Munich.. since it will take about 18hrs or so :/ We also now have to book a flight from Budapest to Barcelona to avoid a 26hr train ride! All the other trips should be alright though.

The good news however, is that I've booked all my accom in tokyo and am just planning on what to do there.. I'm still aiming to climb Mt Fuji, but some japanese people have been telling me some wild stories about how crazy the wind gets up there.. apparently it gets so strong that it can literally pick you up and throw you a few metres down the mountain.. apparently lots of people have died cause of this!! I'm also hoping to go and hit an onsen :D Amanda has just pointed me to http://www.fulbrightmemorialfund.jp/PlacesOfInterest/Odaiba_Area/OedoOnsenMonogatari/OdeoOnsen.html which is easy to get to in tokyo and looks to be a decent price!

The world cup is fast approaching too, and everyone should get up and support the flying dutchmen!!! not the dodgy aussies who forget they arn't playing rugby!!! on the 4th of June the Dutch will show the aussies how to play football!!! (i hope they win otherwise i'll cop it hard)

The Kenny Yabu Story

As you may or may not know, Kenny Yabu arrived in Sydney last Friday morning thanks to merick and rosso.. if you want to know the story just check out www.nova969.com.au
Anyway, Nova organised an outside broadcast from the steps of the opera house to celebrate his arrival. A few of the dedicated work spam crew decided to head down early Monday morning to grab some freebies and also to give Kenny the thumbs up. We all got there fairly early at around 7am but all the free stuff had gone.. We hung around as the crowd of people grew continuously to see Kenny arrive at 8am. We lined up right next to the red carpet some might say within touching distance of where Kenny was meant to walk.. We were then give Australian and Japanese flags to wave when Kenny arrived.. When the time came the crowd started chanting 'kenny kenny kenny' and then they all went nuts when he appeared (well srota.) As he walked down the red carpet he seemed overwhelmed by it all.. and as he approached Ian and I we decided to give him our flags.. Kenny then walked around for most of the morning waving our flags (we're famous!!!!) And after that we all pissed off and went to work!

A funny thing happened on Sunday night.. Ric, Frank and I decided to go out bike riding.. we were about to ride part of the m7 but we has issues crossing one of the bridges to get us there.. this caused us to change strategy and head towards st marys.. about 1min from our destination (after about 40min of riding) the unthinkable happened.. one of my peddles started to wobble and the whole crank came off.. This was in a shaddy part of town.. i started to ride the bike to the nearest petrol station with one peddle (yes using only one leg..) I looked like i had just escaped out of some mental hospital haha.. but i got to the petrol station and had to wait for my friends to ride back home and get a car to pick me up in.. and thats my funny story... ha ha ha.

Sydney, LEARN TO DRIVE!

I'm sick of people in sydney not being able to drive!!! Last night I was heading to Bondi on the M4 (~110km/h) when this 4X4 merc which was indicating to move into the left lane decided to suddenly move into my lane.. now i was just about to over take it fairly quickly when they decided to do that.. luckily i swerved pretty hard and missed the car.. but I almost lost control cause swerving made my car rock back and froth!!! oh was i pissed!!! i slowed down to 50km/h to give this merc a piece of my mind but they wouldn't go near me.. BAH!!!

Anyway I finally got down to bondi (1.5hours late) and managed to enjoy my told ribs :D. We all headed off to Orbit Bar which was pretty cool, its a nice place to go and sit down for a drink.. I was a bit disappointed at how slow the thing rotates though!

But friday night was spent at Bar 333, Privlige (where you end up smelling like smoke) and equilibrium which was pretty good.. I think i need to go out more often.

The friday prior to this weekend was a very interesting night indeed.. it was the night of our IBM Dragon boat team's end of season party.. they told us to dress up as 'larger then life' so i decided to come as Wally! Walking through the city dressed as Wally sure had its moments.. random screams from people shouting "I found wally!!" a crack up.. had a few pics with random people on the street as well! haha but the weirdest thing would have to have been a girl who came up to me at equilibrium saying she was my wife ?!?!?! I know I can't explain it... but if you want to get some attention for girls in a club.. dress up as wally or one of the other characters we had ;)

Europe Trip Update:

NSW Corporate Games wrap up!

The Commonwealth Games was not the only thing happening over the weekend! The NSW corp games was also on! I ended up entering in two events, touch football and also my blue ribon sport, dragon boat racing.

Saturday: Touch Football
Waking up on Saturday morning I got all my gear ready and head up to Mason Park in Stratfield.. on the way it was pouring rain, so I didn't think we'd get much of a game in! Anyway i turned up 30min late due to some idiotic construction workers who had decided to dig a hole on the busiest corner of parramatta road which screwed everything up!! Once I got to the field I grabbed my shirt (number 15) and started to warm up with the team which consisted of about 7 guys and 5 girls. Our first game was up against Meat and Live stock Australia.. or something like that.. anyway we made mince meat of them!!! the score was about 5-2 in favour of the IBM Sting Rays :D But, after that game our winning streak was over we lost the rest of our games.. Getting smashed by last years winners HP and also having a close game with RAMS home loans.. which saw a few altercations take places between the girls.. damm those home loans girls are crazy bitches!!! Once we finished off our last game, Simon made a mad rush for the car and ran back with an esky, in the middle of the feild we all pulled out a few beers and soaked up the atmosphere! I managed to drink my first whole beer ever. I think the highlight of my day was watching the ASX team play.. DAMM they have some hot girls.. DAMM! but they were also a awesome team who smashed the crap out of all teams in their pool.

Sunday: Dragon Boating
This was THE event for me.. Our team has been training since early october for this, we've grown from a small team of barely 20 people to a HUGE crew of about 50 paddlers. I got down to the lakes at penrith at about 10am to see IBM Dragons 2 finish their 2nd heat which they had just won!! They'd also won the previous heat and came a respectable 3rd in their 3rd and final race, which allowed them to progress into the semi's!! Then the afternoon session approached, it was IBM Dragons 1 in Pool 7 (I think) We pretty much had the toughest pool out of all of them.. why? because we had CALTEX! Last year Caltex had won this event and at the Australian Corporate Games they had beat us! So it was going to be a very very intense few races.

Heat 1:
We all loaded into boat, but we were 1 paddler short and Andre wasn't going to make it in time! So we had to head off with 1 man down. We headed off to the starting area and lined up.. our race plan was a 3 start 20 with full power and 70 rate.. then 20 with a little less power then 20 with 110% power to bring it home.. anyway.. once the started called Are you Ready! Attention! GO!!! we were off.. we had a sloppy start but had managed to pop out in 2nd place and proceded to run down caltex.. but out efforts wern't good enough, caltex beat us by 3/4 of a boat and the rest of the field was well.. 10seconds or so behind! For our next race we knew we had to win otherwise our chances were gone!

Heat 2:
Once again.. we headed down and loaded into the boat.. this time with Andre the great (this is a guy taller then me and built like a tank.) we had changed our race strategy slightly.. we realised our start was our weak point so we slowed it down to 3 long and deep strokes.. Once we lined up the started called it Are you ready! Attention! GO!!! and we were off!! we jumped into the lead with our new start and lead the field out.. In out middle phase however caltex started to gain.. oh it was bad news indeed.. BUT just as they were catching it was time for our BUILD phase.. where we kicked it in and kept our lead to beat caltex by something like 4 tenths of a second!! and we were in with a chance of making our final!!!

Heat 3:
This was pretty much a grand final for us.. it was either us or caltex who was going to make it through to the finals, we decided to make out starting strokes a little longer once again just to get the edge on the rest of the field. We were put into lane 1 closest to the crowd.. so any stuff ups and everyone would see. once again, Are you ready! Attention! GO!! and we were off again our start was awesome and we hit the lead straight away.. but caltex wasn't about to give us an easy race.. they came back and evened up the race it was neck and neck.. but was we came closer to the finish line we could hear our other team (IBM Dragons 2) cheering which lifted the whole boat and we managed to beat caltex!!! Needless to say we went nuts.. You can pretty much say caltex is our arch enemy in dragon boat racing.. and we sent them straight home..no semi's no nothing!! the commentators even gave them some stick.

Semi Final 1: (damm I am getting bored of writing this up!!)
In our semi we were seeded up against 2 Macq Bank teams and also GHD.. it was going to be a touch touch race.. with the first two places advancing two the major finals and the last two moving into the minor finals. Once all the teams were lined up.. the starter called it once again.. Are you ready! Attention! GO!!! and GHD flew off the line!!! jumping to a nice lead straight away!! Followed closely but Macq Bank and IBM.. as we hit our build phase we started to reel GHD in, which Macq Bank was also doing.. but it wasn't enough when we hit the line.. it was
1st: GHD
2nd: Macq Bank Splashers
3rd: IBM Dragons 1
4th: Macq Bank some other name..

Minor Finals:
The minor finals were going to be interesting.. IBM Dragons 2 had missed out on the major finals and we were seeded right next to each other, so sportsmen ship went out the window!! Pepsi and Macq bank some other name.. were also in the minor finals.. Once the starter had called Are you Ready! Attention! GO!! we were off.. and all teams were pretty much neck and neck off the start! But Pepsi started to pull away from us.. at the same time we were pulling away from the rest of the field and leaving out team makes in our wake (sorry guys!) and once we hit the line it was
1st: Pepsi
2nd: IBM Dragons 1
3rd: IBM Dragons 2
4th: Macq Bank some other names..
5th: I can;t even remember..

So all in all it was probably the most fun I've had dragon boating.. and for our team we walked away happy knowing we had managed to knock out caltex!

And tomorrow starts a new week full of crap work and uni! bah.. Looking forward to the end of season party on friday night though :D

Boring jobs!

I hate them!! I sit at work all day pretending to be busy.. It's excellend money but it bored the hell out of me!! and the IT Department is just crap at this company I even hate my self for being part of them haha.. But this place i am temping it has its ups.. I have an excellend relationship with the secretary, now if she wasn't 55 I reckon I'd have a chance with her ;) But seriously, working at a construction company can be funny at times.. listening to foremen blow up on the phone ripping the crap out of the people on the other end of the phone then hanging up and acting like nothing happens has to been an experience that makes the day go just that bit faster. If this company had some anlysis work they needed doing I would actually like coming to work.. but for now I'm stuck down stairs in the IT team with the accounts girls talking about fruits and computer games. THANK GOD FOR WORK SPAM!

On Friday night i headed to farewell Evie from the IBM dragon boating team! Kaye, Frank and I decided to head down to the retro hotel for some cheap drinks.. I was pretty shocked when i got there and i had to pay $4.50 for a damm drink!! what happened to $2.50 happy hour!!! I didn't drink cause of my pneumonia but thats not the point!! Bring back the $2.50 drinks dammit!! Anyway I think we will be making more trips back to the retro regardless because of the music, and they have some pretty cute chicks there ;) Anyway after that we headed off to Bungalow 8 for the farewell.. I expected to have a few issues getting in.. which is standard for a 'My post code is north shore' joint.. but we got in without a fuss, but the crowd was crap, except for the farewell crowd of course! we hung out there until about 11pm and headed home.. thats right headed home we're old farts.

Anyway, I am really hating japan at the moment.. why is it still snowing?!?! Niseko just got another 30cm of fresh powder over night!! dammit! oh well I'll have to hit Japan again in either Jan or Feb 07... Oh and if anyone wants to buy a 161cm RIDE snow board let me know.. its time for my board to find a new home!

Well. I'm back from over seas.. I came back quite some time ago.. But I've been way to lazy to blog as you can see. Both HK and Phils were awesome, I had a blast in both places but i think i probably preferred HK over Phils.. Anyway towards the end of the phils i managed to catch the flu off Noni.. I thought nothing of it, we kept our ritual of clubbing every night and I thought it would eventually pass. But i was wrong.. It just kept getting worse and worse.. a about a week after the first signs I was starting to cough up a lot of crap and my lungs were starting to hurt.. Of course, i was worried, BUT this was my holiday and I was gonna have fun, so we continued going out every night and drinking.. (long island cost about $2 to $2.50) and eventually on the last day/night in the phils I ended up in the car park coughing my lungs out!! thats when i decided to stop :) I had to wait about 18hours before i could get to a doctor in aus and it was torture the whole way back to aus, cause my my illness i couldn't equalize the pressure in my ears in the plane so they were killing most of the way there and of course once we land.. But yeah.. Once i got my self to the doctor in aus it turns out i have pneumonia! which was a relief sort.. Lucky its not sars or the bird flu!! but yeah, its a bitch of an illness and to this day I am still fighting to get rid of it.

Anyway whats been happening.. Not much. Uni is back on, and I am hating it.. I think it is just such a waste of time right now.. but it needs to be done! I've also managed to score some IT contracting work (booooring) at a company called St Hilliers which is sorta like multiplex but smaller.. anyway its helped me sort out my money for europe/asia!

I'm also in training for two events at the corporate games this coming weekend! I'm in the IBM touch footy team which plays on Saturday at stratfield as well as the IBM Dragon Boating team which paddles on Sunday down at penrith.. in both events we should be able to acheive some pretty decent results!

Anyway I should hopefully start posting more often as my plans for the next holiday emerge.

Hello from hong kong!

I'm tired..... very tired.. feel like passing out.. thats what going out every night and shopping all day is doing to me.

We've all done a lot of impulse buying here... and I also got my self a hair cut.. which cost me 1600$HK and no I wasn't drunk at the time haha.

The night life here is awesome but its very pricey at one stage ae paid 41$AUD for a drink (double vodka lemon lime) and the prices seem to fluctuate from hour to hour

But we are all having an awesome time down here.. Can't upload any pictures because we're having a hard time finding a net cafe and only have access to computers at cafes. Tonight is our last night in HK and it's going to b e a big one..

oh, one of the funest things we've done so far is head down to the hourse races!!! I missed out on increaseing my winnings by 5 times cause we had NFI how to fill out the form..

I don't think this post makes any sense since I'm tired as and still have alcohol running through my blood..

An update at last

It's been a while since my last update..

Continuing on from my post in melbourne, I had a blast.. there is nothing better then a work funded learning event/holiday!! On Tuesday night we had a trivia night and we selected a crack team of specialists to make sure we took out first place, at the start of it we issued a challenge to the reigning champions which consisted of mostly partners.. after the first 3 rounds we realised we had no chance, so we changed out tactics and just started drinking!! needless to say it was an awesome night with the partners once again wining and we came about 5th last. GG! After that things started becoming a little bit hazey since i had drunk about 1.5 bottles of white wine.. anyway from what i remember we headed down to a bar called transport I had a few shots of vodka to kick things along.. and all i remember after that is talking to some girl for a while and then hassling the other grads to drink and talking with Vicki, Kirit, Jen and Thakshi.. thats all I remember though, people informed me of other conversations which I did not remember at all!! Anyay apparently we got home about 330am and I ended up waking up at 845 (classes started at 9am) and I some how made it to class at 9:10.. pretty impressive.

Anyway the rest of summer school was great, we had another massive party on thursday which rocked!! After that some of us stayed an extra few days do to the great ocean road drive, it's definitely worth it if you can do it.. it takes a good few hours but you get to go down past bells beach and drive right along the coast line on some nice twisty roads which were great to drive on even though i was driving a tarago which feels like driving a boat!

after that.. we ended up getting back to melbourne about mid night so not much happened after that.

Once morning dawned, we woke up early to return the cars, but we were a bit early so we headed down to Albert Park (F1 track) to do a lap and take some pics.. Its really surprising how narrow the track is! it fits a lane in each way but TV makes the track seem so much wider, anyway I had to once again navigate the tarago around the track and into the pits.. we had some fun on the starting grid and pit lane.

After we finished our little grad prix we headed back ad returned the cars and exchanged our keys for a $2.50 sunday saver ticket! Which lets you travel anywhere you want on trams, buses and trains.. We spent most the of day at chapel St which is pretty good for shopping.. Later on we headed off to lygon st to have a farewell dinner for the guys who were leaving on sunday night we got talked into eating at this restaurant by an old man.. it all seemed good until they started fighting infront of us about a table a family just sat down at.. the family was quickly moved to another table and about 5minutes later this huge bald guy walks in with another bloke and what looks like a prostitute.. they sit down and he takes out 3 phones and makes calls all through out his meal, he then gets up shakes the waiters hand and leaves without paying.. our theory was that he was in the melbourne mafia!

On the monday Jason, Thakshi and I headed off to melbourne park to watch some tennis! We've decided that at next years summer school we'll be staying an extra week to watch more tennis.. we saw a fair few games but the main draw card of the day was the end of the Carlos Moya and Andrew Pavel match which was to be followed by the Thomas Johanson match.. we decided to sit with the swedish fans

Needless to say it was probably the best move we made of the day.. the swedish fans were pumping everyone up and we were sitting right next to the guy who was organising all the chants! during the end of the Moya/Pavel match the swedish fans would just cheer for whoever was winning to help the game along quickly.. and once Moya went down in 5 sets the swedish fans started going crazy with all their chants.. it was funny listening to chants like "thats the way uh huh uh huh we like uh huh uh huh" "lets go thomas lets go" etc.. all in swedish!

And that was pretty much it for melbourne.. we rushed back to the hotel after the match to grab our bags and also grabed some fries from a store called "lord of the fries" the fries wern't that great tho.. way to much hype.

The last two weeks I've spent back on a project in chatswood which has been pretty boring since there isn't much i can learn in two weeks before I leave on my trip.. last friady was my last official day at IBM for my internship which was pretty cool, I will be coming back to IBM on the 16th of Oct so I'm all set.

Last night we headed of to kayes house to celebrate her birthday.. and as tradition would have everyone pretty much got trashed having the infamous 'big brother specials' and other weird mixes.. it was a great night which saw things like lemons being rubbed and squezed into eyes and people passing out.

As of 845am Monady I will be jetsetting my say over to HK/phils.. I'm heading over with Kaye, Frank and Noni its going to be nuts and I'm sure there will be some interesting stories, videos and pictures to come :D I also have to report back on the manliness of the phils... only a few people should understand that!

I've also actually got my self a book! I've been getting into business strategy a bit lately and our presentor at summer school for the strategy class has told us to read up on book called the pyramid principile by barbra minto a former McKinsey consultant.. so far the book seems pretty good! I will continue my review later on.

Arrived in melbourne today, we decided to come in and check in early to see some sights, once we headed to the hotel (Grand Hyatt) we saw a few of the australian open stars around!!

once that was over we headed out to see the sights of melbourne! headed off to Bridge st which looks a bit like newtown and is pretty funky.. lots of little stores around. Once that was over we headed of to chapel st which has some pretty awesome shopping! Next top was st kilda beach! which looks more like botany bay.. then for probably my highlight of the day was a visit to albert park and hanging out in pitt lane for a while!! Once that was done we headed back to the hotel and saw a few more super stars (the williams sisters) and headed out to lygon st for dinner.. which is awsome!!

Lessons learnt

I've learnt a few lessons the past few weeks, one of the important ones is that I've learnt that I shouldn't go putting ice on my head after playing oztag on a very very humid saturday morning.. that just leads to catching a cold and during summer i can assure that its far from fun, I've been slowly dying in my corner at work..

The other important lesson is to choose your words carefully when talking to someone senior at work, if you don't they make take it the wrong way and make sure you know it! I've had incidents like that with the words 'fun' and 'pressure'

Finally summer holidays are approaching, but I will be spending a fair chunk of it working on bored of studies work to get the site going at another level for next year.. but I will make sure i make time to go off to the beach multiple times as well as getting a few decent fishing sessions in!

Last night I played in one of the best oztag games I have ever played in, we only had 7 players which meant no subs, and we came up against the team tied for 1st with ourselves which had 4 subs! needless to say we played out guts out, we were down 5 tried to 3 at half time but managed to climb back and take the lead! However having no subs and at times playing with only 6 players on the field we lost the game in the dying seconds as the other team broke through our defence to score their final try. bringing the score to 9 - 8.. but we all agreed we had an awesome game.

King King: It's a movie to watch when it comes out on DVD.. thats all i have to say.

To everyone going overseas take it easy and HAVE FUN.. and to everyone overseas atm keep having fun!! I have one bone to pick with everyone overseas atm.. where are the pics??? how's your form people!!!!

Working from home..

I love it, I really do... I can wake up at 8:50am sleep in for 10minutes and still make it to work on time.. I LOVE IT! and thats what I have been doing most of this week while between projects. We've finished up at Qantas which is a shame as i love the airport, my new project will be over in chatswood with Vodafone.. I'm scared of the work hours and I'm sure Melissa is going to try and boss me around :P

The bad thing with Qantas finishing up is that we've missed the christmas party! and I already missed the vodafone one which looked like heaps of fun.. oh well there are 3 more work christmas parties to attend to.. one of them being the infamous BCS party which should ROCK! I hear disco stu is making a come back.

My weekend was both busy and relaxing.. Saturday consisted of;
- going down to penrith to watch a few dragon boat races
- taking greg and thip to the airport
- going to lidcombe for a work mates birthday only to realise i turned up a day early
- hornsby for the girls farewell and xmas party..
- city to hang out with some friends and then finally head home.

Sunday
- Beach. :D and i didnt end up turning into a lobster which was great.

Looks like this sunday is going to be pretty interesting, no doubt there will be some blood shed over at cronulla over this aussie vs wog war.. so if anyone feels brave enough they should pull on of those moves from die hard 3 when that guy heads into the bronx.

Its only about 6 weeks before we head overseas! I havent bothered getting my shots and I'm thinking I'll get them late, like my tax, which also needs to be done. but it looks like we will be heading down to Macau for a day to visit the triads.. and also staying in the penthouse in Manila :D

Well, back from the Australian Corporate Games! We left melbourne happy as we had acheived our goal of making the finals! here are the results

Heat 1: 1st
Heat 2: 1st
Heat 3: 1st
Semi Final: 2nd by 1 tenth of a second
Final: 4th

Overall we were awarded the 2nd fastest team on the day!! well done team!

Plenty of drinking and clubbing then followed the races at least 34 bottles of wine and 15 long islands were consumed through out the night :)

I really can't be bothered typing!
I had my last exam for this semester on monday after coming back form melbourne, have to say it was easy as since it was exactly the same as the past paper :D

headed to veranda bar for poorani's bday and bumped into some friends which i hadn't seen in ages!
saturday was spent doing a presentation at uni for some parents.. which i should of prepared for a little better..

ended up watching chicken little at night with greg, maddy etc great movie!

sunday.. wet windy and cold. Marvin decided to have his BBQ inspite of the conditions.. had to break out the old snow gear and head down for a good few hours with some of the boys.. ended up being pretty good!

that is all, pretty boring.

Thats right, less then 1 week to go untill the ACG (Australian Corporate Games) in melbourne... we had our final training session this morning and it was a killer! 2.5 hours of pain! oh well lets hope we win in melbourne, if not win then just beat caltex :D

Got to see the bew Air Bus A380 fly over the city while we were paddling, have to say that thing is massive! but not as massive as will.

Heading to the le womens BBQ, i decided to take the cross city tunnel.. I have to say i was very impressed, gets you through the city damm fast, if i was rich, and lived in the east i would use it, but i'm poor and live way out west.

PMQA exam tomorrow, it has to be one of the worst subjects I have ever done in my life, I can feel a formal complaint coming up after exams are done!

anyway back to it.

Are all girls freaks?

As we finished our training session for dragon boating we all headed back to our cars to get changed etc before the usual team breakfast.. as we walked back we noticed there every car in the car park had a note stuck on it.. once we started reading it we found out it was from some fruit cake of a girl.. The email pretty much said that This girl was seeing a guy (who dragon boats) and they got along like a house on fre.. started seeing each other and calling each other all the time.. then suddenly the guy did not want to see her anymore, didnt talk to her on the phone etc.. the girl then says the guy had no reason to do this as she was not a 'fruit cake' and was smart and good looking! anyway later on in the email she said the name of the guy and then warned o ther girls to stay away... now like WTF! we all agreed that this girl is nuts! lets hope that all girls arn't this clingy and bitchy when they need to get over a break up.. as i like to say, build a bridge and get over it!

and thats pretty much the interesting part of my sunday.. as a side note, caltex are going down at the Australian Corporate Games!!!

Work
well i finished off training last week, hoooray no more boring java and dodgy websphere! but I'll miss the big sandwich place damm that was the best! 7.50$ buys you a HUGE sandwich! thanks mel for introducing us to the place on our first day! Anyway, I also got my PA back for part of my training.. which was pretty bad.. it really came across that i was sick of programming and not really trying.. oh well thats something to improve on.

Hmm what else.. well the project I am on is still going.. but we arn't sure for how much longer or whats going on.. its going through a big re-plan and the rumors are going around.. Everyone's work is drying up and people are just waiting to see what happens. So I've started hunting around for another project to move to, and hopefully my manager will get back to me soon about whats out there and will have something interesting for me.. I'm also going to attempt to move into the Business Intelligence practice at BCS.. i think its a good building block for moving into CRM or SCM which I want to do.. anyway, that is that!

I'm still turning up to training every sunday morning in preparation for the Australian Corporate Games down in melb! I can't wait we are going to have a very very strong team and I have a good feeling they we may walk away with a win!! which will then make the after party so much better :D

- OzTag
I've started playing OzTag with the guys from uni.. its pretty fun, just having a hard time getting use to grabbing tags! Our first game is next week on Wednesday, but so far at training we've smashed every team we've played.. However, we have had one injury already, our big man Kev broke is finger executing a highly technical play and will be out for a few weeks.. hopefully he will be back soon.. Uni
Uni sucks, I'm over it.. I want to finish it and start getting paid a proper grad salary so I can move out and live less then 1 hours drive from the city! ARGH! well, the assignments are coming to an end, le blokes consulting are finishing up their CRM strategy for Graphic World printing and we have yet to start our PMQA assignment... but as of the 21st of Nov I shall be free again!

Life + stories
Not much has been happening in the way of life, I have just enough time to breathe these days and the rest is taken up with uni/work/sport..

Anyway i have a story, While at Melissa's birthday Frank and I start walking away from the bar and we see some nice girls.. we give the standard raise of the eyebrows to let them know they look alright (haha) and we keep going.. anyway later on the start talking to us and then they all leave me with this one girl.. so it was obvious what was happening.. pitty the girl was not my type, and she smoked. So i decided to talk to her anyway for some practice! all is going well for about 20minutes when the age topic coes up.. at this point I am sending off a SMS to Frank saying "save me" anyway i tell her I'm 22 and she's shocked.. then thankfully frank rocks up and she is off like a rocket! who knew age was such a turn off! and she looked about 25-26!

and thats all for tonight. Remember Daylight savings.. tomorrow will be such a hard wake up. argh.

Thats right, no more JAVA! I've finished up the java part of the month long training course.. I adopted the strategy of not performing so well in the programming part of training to increase my chances of not having to do coding on a project! lets hope it works. With java now being over, it leaves only 1 week of training to go in the city.. which has its up and downs! I will be able to go back to bringing food from home and save a ton of money.. but i will also have to wake up half an hour earlier.. sigh.

Anyway whats been happening? Nothing much is my usual answer, and yes i am going to stick to it this time again. This weekend has been fairly normal, uni, dragon boat training etc.. apart from 1 incident. Coming home from the movies i get to sleep at about 2:30am.. at abotu 4am my phone starts vibrating, I decide to leave it, I tell my self if its important they'll call back, a few seconds later someone calls again, and i again i tell my self if its really important they will call back.. seconds pass, and once again someone rings.. so i pick it up (ends up being Frank) and he's drunk as, and stuck in the city after going around with some Irish chick and ending up at a gay bar.. needless to say i had an interesting time trying to arange a place to pick him up since he falls asleep so easy! and that was pretty much that, so if you ever need to be picked up at 4am, remember, ring 3 times!

hmm what else.. if you are considering buying an MR2 i would advise you not to! I was driving home from Beiruit By The Bay and joined the M4 at parra, pulled over on the side of the road is a yellow MR2 with half the car on fire! it looked stock standard and seemed to have caught on fire for no apparent reason! so stay away! On the other hand, a car to get is the new Golf GTI.. damm its HOT!

Hmm what else.. Addy has now turned 21! She had an awsome birthday party at statement lounge i think it was? 1920's theme.. everyone looked awsome, except for one poor poor boy.. me :D it was a great night, ended up staying at world tower with an awsome view of the eastern suburbs! the aftermarth was not so great.. staying at uni till late to get PMQA done, then running over to the IBM Innovation Centre to try and print out the PERT chart was not so fun!

Speaking of work.. I got to have breakfast with my manager at one of Sydneys best resteraunts! Austral at star city.. I love the level of service there and the view is also amazing! It turns out I got an award for my performance at Qantas and got some cash for it too :D woohoooo!

I have now also joined the Trojans for a season of OzTag! go number 9!!! (only number left :( )

anyway thats about it, cant really think of anything else, i will need to start posting more often as i tend to forget all the things that happen throughout the month!

Gold gold gold!!!!!

That's right, GOLD! last sunday at the Ryde Dragon Boat Festival our team took out 1st place in the corporate/community division!! It was an awsome day.. we had 2 heats and then race in the A final, our first heat was amazing, we absolutely SMASHED the other teams and our time was only a few seconds shy of the times the sports crews had set in the finals!! but the 2nd heat was much much closer the local Ryde team gave us a run for our money.. Once the finals came up we were all pretty nervous since it was our first race for the season, the starter took their time lining us up then we got the call.. "Paddles up! Attention! BANG" and we were off!! we had a pretty bad start to be honest and had to make up ground through out the whole race.. but in the end it was IBM by a third of a boat :D here are some pics from the day

Hmm what else has been happening. I've been living like quite a tight ass the past few weekends, we had plenty of nights in watching DVDs to make sure we keep our expenses down it is getting pretty boring..

How good was the first episode of lost season 2? I can't believe how addictive that show is, I've been reading a lot of forums and it turns out the when you reverse the sound of walts voice when he was whispering he says something like "the button is bad" or something like that.. I think its some how connected with the "Execute" button on the computer in the hatch! but I can't wait for ep2!

I'm about to start a month's worth of training! how not exciting! well at least i'll be in the city and will now finally be able to have lunch with some other friends :D this month of training will then be followed up by another week of training in melb some time in jan :D woohoo i will open up my frequent flyer account at Qantas! lets hope this is a sign of things to come haha..

anyway thats about it, I think i will go out this coming friday its time to get sloshed I think!

Oh work has been pretty good lately.. a few of the grads have been going out for dinner.. its so funny hearing all the work bitching and politics, but a common theme was that everyone see's that people who suck up

Becoming lazy..

Yes.. its happening once again, I can't be bothered updating this or doing uni work, but it all eventually must be done.. Anyway, I don't think much has been happening lately the only thing I can remember from last weekend was going to the IBM Dragons On Demand open day and paddling in the pouring rain in the freezing cold! needless to say I had an awesome time and ended up joining.

The week was pretty standard, plenty of work to be done at work with the Australia Sales go live coming up I've also sort of changed teams for a while, but that may be short lived! I also learned a very valuable lesson in keeping track of things this week, I turned up to class as usual on tuesday night, I see Sharon handing in her assignment progress report.. I am thinking they are handing it in early so I ask them why they are handing it in so early.. and to my dismay their reply was "It's not early its due today" so we basically screwed that up :D but luckily enough Howie and Irf were both on their way home so they wrote up the report and emailed it off by the time the class finished!

I haven't had much of a weekend this week.. had to work on saturday which was a pain in the ass! the only good thing was the free lunch :D but we don't get paid for over time so it evens out i guess! and today (Sunday) was our first proper dragon boating training session! it was pretty intense! we spent about 1.5 hours on the water practicing technique and other things, we had 3 practice races and it really really takes it out of you! Our first race is next weekend over at putney, where we also get to pick up our hot new uniforms :D

Thats right! Last nights dinner was full of seafood.. beautiful seafood... The occasion was wedding Kathy's mum and step father! We were lucky enough to be invited to the reception which was well full of vietnamese people! I guess they wanted some contrasting colours so they invited me :P

Anyway, Dave, Greg, Thip, Kathy, Kaye, Frank, Noni, Alan, Ric and I all arrived about 7:15.. we had to wait around a while get some photos taken with the bride + groom and then we took our seats to look over the nights menu

Hmm what else.. This week I joined up to the IBM dragon boating team.. never done this before and I'm taking a few friends along tot his event as it should be pretty fun and good exercise.

I seem to be bumping into Addy all over the place! I went to a 'networking' event on thursday at the rocks with Marvin and Frank and I ended up bumping into Addy! haha We all thought it was a pretty strange event as we were pretty young compared to everyone else, but we ended up having a good laugh and met some new people.. I think we should be going to the next event which is at Opera Bar

I have to say it sucks working next to the air port, my Friday lunch was spent sitting at the airport and day dreaming about the up coming holidays which still seem a long long way off..

I think i might head into the city tonight and roam around.. maybe i'll bump into a few people ;)

Well, there goes another weekend that's come and gone.. This was has been more 'weekendy' then my last few weekends which have been taken up by certain side projects which look like they are finally coming to an end! wooohoo!

The main event of the weekend was Lan's 22nd Birthday dinner at Löwenbräu have to say it was pretty damm good! Irf and i decieded to try out one of their special dishes which was the Löwenschnitzel, I had my doubts, but when it came out I was put in my place and loved my meal!

Following the dinner, everyone headed off to MBL to go clubbing, which is where i made my exit! Ended up heading over to Fox Studios and picked up a friend and headed to our world famous 'Taxi HQ' kebab store to discus the night and hype our selves up about next years travel plans which will see us jetting across most parts of the world!

And thats about it for the weekend, today has been fairly quiet, just preparing my work snacks for the week to hopefully stop my self from buying food at work and save some money!

Yep, just another quick, regular update ;D

Anyway has has been happening.. I have finally uploaded some pics from my frist trip to the snow! the conditions wern't too great but we had an awsome time exploring the outer areas of thredbo and finding some nice fresh stashes of snow :D You can check out the pictures here

Anyway, I've also booked ticked to head over seas! I'm heading to Hong Kong and the Phils in Feb with Frank and Kaye! we can't wait as we all need a decent holiday and want to hit the bars and shops :D we have devised our plan to hopefully get bumped up to business class! if it fails we will all be sitting alone on different parts of the plane haha.. We have also started to throw around ideas for the big trip in mid 06, which will see us gone for about 4 months!

I've also been offered to stay on at IBM BCS as a 'grad' once i return from my big holiday! they seem to be VERY accomodating and are planning activities around my trip which rocks :D Everything is pretty much finalised I've done most of the contract negotiation stuff and now its just working out which direction my role will lead me to!

I've also started to get into the whole friday after work drinks/dinner thing! its pretty good and i should probably do it more often haha.

I'm all packed (not really) and ready to go to the snow! This will be the second time i head down this season and it looks like it will be a pretty decent weekend with lots of snow forecast so hopefully we'll be getting some nice actions shots as we try to jump off various rocks and ledges!

Anyway... congrats to the idiots to left the 'suspicious' package at blacktown station.. if it was your goal to delay my train from central by 45 minutes then you have accomplished it!!!
